Birthday Card | Angie Blom Designs "Coolest Chicks Ever" | Krafty Chicks Challenge #714 - Week #1 Stamps

Hey there!

It's Week #1 over at Krafty Chicks Challenge and that means it's time for some stamping! I decided to go with a very apt theme - Angie Blom's "Coolest Chicks Ever" digital stamp set! We raised chickens when I was growing up and they looked a lot like this one at the top!

I sized the chick with the flower necklace (kind of like The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo?!?) to fit an A2-sized card front and printed it onto 100# white card stock. I trimmed the panel and ink blended the background with Distress Oxides, leaving a bit of white space around the chick. I watercolored the image and attached this panel to a top-folding card base. I created the two sentiments on the computer and die cut them both. A strip of red gingham pattern paper was adhered to the bottom and the sentiments were attached on top; a few blue sequins were added to finish up the design!

I just love the expression on her face! I decided to do a second card with one of the other images in the set, "The Chick With The Giant Glasses" and I think I like this one even more than the first! I colored her like a Bantam Hen (we raised this type of chicken, too, and these feisty "Banties" would chase me around the barnyard!)

I really like Angie Blom's illustrations - they have a touch of whimsy and imperfection that I find really fun to work with! This is what the set includes:

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you'll join us over at the Krafty Chicks Challenge for Week #714 - Stamping! And check out what the Krafty Chicks are up to!

Happy crafting!

Birthday Card | Angie Blom Digital Designs - "Thanks, Let It Bee" Stamp Set

Happy Good Friday!

Today I've got a couple of card designs using the great digi stamp set, "Thanks, Let It Bee", from Angie Blom Digital Designs! Angie does such a get job mixing and matching her elements and she even lays out a full page of card front designs that you just print directly! Easy peasy! I really recommend heading over to her store and looking around for yourself!

I mass produced over two dozen cards using 5 different designs and they all started by printing the card fronts onto 80# white card stock. Using a honey comb stencil, I ink blended the pattern around the designs using Distress Oxides. The panels were spritzed with shimmer spray and spattered with gold watercolors. I went back in after they were dry and ink blended just a little bit more around the edges with Black Soot, trimmed them down to 4" x 5.25." and attached them to an A2 black cardstock panel.

I painted the images with watercolors in a very loose, gestural way and each panel only took about 10 minutes to complete. The card fronts were adhered onto top-folding A2 card bases and a few golden sequins finished up the designs! I'm so glad that I made a stash of these - they are such bright, happy cards and I can't wait to send them all out to spread a bit of sunshine to the recipients!

Thanks a million for buzzing by today and happy crafting!

Wedding Card | Angie Blom Digital Designs - "To The Wedding Couple"

Hello!

It's wedding season and here is my first card featuring Angie Blom's "To The Wedding Couple" digital stamp set! Angie's digi sets are so versatile and I love how she offers pre-designed layouts so that all you have to do is print out an A2 page and you're ready to go with 4 separate A2 card fronts! However, for this layout, I did combine a couple of images in my own way to create this A7 (5x7) sized card.

I printed the digi image onto watercolor paper, painted it and added a stenciled background using Distress Oxide Inks. The entire panel was sprayed with pearl shimmer mist and heavily spattered with diluted inks/metallic paint. Once dry, the panel was trimmed to 4.75" x 6.75" and the heat embossed vellum sentiment was attached in place. All that was left was to layer the image panel onto gold metallic card stock and then attach it to the cream card base. I added pink and gold sequins to finish the design!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a great holiday weekend!

All Occasion Card | Alphabet Challenge - "Y" is For "Yellow" | Angie Blom - "Just For You Tulips"

Happy Fri-YAY!

We are all set to bring you some sunshine over on the Alphabet Challenge because our theme today is "Y" is for "Yellow" and I'm looking forward to seeing all of the warm yellow hues in our gallery!

I love yellow tulips and chose to use the Angie Blom digital image, "Just For You Tulips." I sized this paper-wrapped bouquet to fit my slimline card and printed it on 100# white card stock. The image was watercolored and fussy cut.

I attached a piece of yellow cardstock to my 4" x 9" slimline card base and adhered stenciled and reverse scallop panels on top to provide a dimensional 'frame' for the bouquet. I die cut, glued and stacked multiple dark pink and black cuts together for the word sentiment, offsetting the black as a shadow cut. I popped the bouquet in place with foam tape, adhered the word die with liquid adhesive and a scattering of sequins finished up the design!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you will join us at the Alphabet Challenge for our "Yellow" challenge!

Birthday Card | Sparkles Challenge - Big Birthdays Ending in "0" or "5" | Angie Blom Digital Designs - Birthday Girl Sass

Hello!

We've got a great birthday challenge starting today over on the Sparkles Monthly Blog - show us your projects for BIG Birthdays ending in either "0" or "5"! This card was designed for a good friend of mine who will be turning 60 this year and I used the "Birthday Girl Sass" image from Angie Blom Digital Designs.

I inked smooshed a card stock panel with Carved Pumpkin, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks, and sprayed it with shimmer mist. The Sass Girl was printed, watercolored and trimmed to size.

I created/printed my own sentiment strip, die cut a couple of fishtail banners from coordinating pattern papers and assembled all the pieces together after first framing the inked and image panels with black card stock. This is such a great digital stamp and I will be able to use it for so many different occasions!

Thanks so much for joining me today and for taking the time to comment! We can't wait to see your big birthday projects in our Sparkles Monthly Gallery!

All Occasion Card | Alphabet Challenge "T" is for Traffic | Angie Blom Digital Designs - "New Year's Sass"

Hello!

Happy New Year! I'm celebrating by featuring this fantastic digital image from Angie Blom Digital Designs, "New Year's Sass!" As soon as I saw this gal, I knew that she could be used in so many different ways... today she's the star of my DT post for the Alphabet Challenge - "T" is for "Traffic".

The image was printed to size, watercolored and fussy cut. I created my own sentiment in PowerPoint, printed and die cut the top panel. A black card stock panel was adhered to a top-folding A2 card base, a strip of striped pattern paper glued onto the right side and the sentiment panel was added on top.

The image was backed with foam tape and popped off the front panel for dimension and I added a few turquoise sequins to match her sweater! The inside reads. "Hope you don't hit any "Speed Bumps" in the New Year!" Let's hope we are all speed bump free in 2021! Thanks so much for stopping by and I can't wait to see your "Traffic" inspired projects over in our Alphabet Challenge Gallery!
