Anniversary Card | Concord & 9th - "Sweet As Pie" Bundle

Hello!

I've got a cute anniversary card for you today! This creation went out to a very special couple who celebrate their anniversary on Pi Day - 3/14/15! I couldn't resist this punny design which showcases Concord & 9th's adorable bundle, "Sweet As Pie."

I stamped the gingham background with red die ink onto white card stock and cut it with the fringed tablecloth die. I brushed the small fringe pieces in different directions to give it more dimension and glued it to a kraft card base; the overhanging edge was cut with scissors.

I die cut the pie pieces and inked them with Distress Oxides. I added lots of tiny blueberries with pearlized watercolors on the base circle so they would show up through that detailed latticed pie crust! (see below!) The three pie pieces were glued together and a bit of sparkling glitter was added on top to highlight a sugar dusting! The pie was popped up with foam tape on top of the table cloth and the sentiment was stamped onto the background.

I die cut/assembled/attached the two small pieces for the pie server and added the small heart embellishments to finish up the card! I was so happy with the finished design on this one! YAY!

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Birthday Card | Alphabet Challenge - "O" is for "Old People"

Happy FRI-YAY!!!!

I'm back to introduce another great theme over on the Alphabet Challenge..."O" is for "Old People"! I had to go the sassy route with this sentiment-focused card since I don't have a single stamp of an old person! However, the design team has some great examples for you over on the blog!!

I chose a primary palette and stamped the Concord & 9th birthday cake image. The MFT Stamps' sentiments were added on top and this panel was die cut. I glued a red scalloped die cut to a black card base, adhered the cake panel on top, added sparkling star designs to the candles and the card was finished! This will be a great card to mass produce since it came together pretty quickly and can be sent to either guys or gals!

We can't wait to see your take on our theme over in our Alphabet Challenge Gallery!

Birthday Card | Concord & 9th - Stuck On You | A Place to Start Challenge "Stencil Me In"

Hi!

Today's post features great products from Concord & 9th, Stuck On You Stamp/Die Set. I combined my design team entry for A Place to Start's June "Stencil Me In" Challenge with the gorgeous color palette from this week's Color Throwdown #545 - Raspberry, Lavender, Green & Kraft - #CTD545.

Using my stencil, I blended Distress Oxide Inks - Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers & Cracked Pistachio - onto a piece of 110# Neenah Solar White. This panel was spritzed generously with water and spattered with pearlized watercolors in similar colors. Once the panel was dry, it was die cut with a stitched rectangle die. I stamped, watercolored and die cut the main images and finished them off with a generous application of my Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen. The images were then assembled and glued together to the front of the stenciled die cut.

Three rectangular frames were die cut from heavy-weight black card stock and stacked/glued together. This frame was adhered to the front of an A-2 top-folding card base. The stenciled panel was backed with craft foam and glued to the center of the card front. I really liked the simple graphic feel on this card and the bold sketchy image.

This card is entered into the following challenges:
