Card Set | Pink & Main - "Butterfly Sketches"

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a sneak peek from Pink & Main's upcoming release - "Butterfly Sketches!" The May 20th release is loaded with lots of butterfly goodness and this large stamp set has seven beautifully drawn butterflies and wonderful sentiments! I heat embossed all of my butterflies on heavy weight vellum (with different powders) and added them to ink-blended backgrounds for this card set.

For my first card, I blended a panel with Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire and a bit of Black Soot Distress Oxides. The panel was sprayed with shimmer mist and spattered with pearl/white paints. When dry, I die cut the panel to an A2 size and then cut an inner panel to create a framed omit. Both of these cuts were glued onto a top-folding white card base. The sentiment was heat embossed and the vellum butterfly was adhered with a strip of Scor-Tape under the body. I finished the card with the NEW Crystal Gems! I love how the butterfly floats above the background and you can see through the wings!

I used Dried Marigold, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks for this panel and began with a light blend of each. Using the "Mandala Stencil", I added a heavy application of these same inks on top giving me a crisp pattern. The panel was sprayed with water, blotted and spattered with gold/pearl paint. I had used a brass embossing powder on the butterfly and embossed the edge of a piece of white card stock with this same powder to create the accent strip. This piece was attached to a top-folding A2 card base and the trimmed stencil panel was adhered on top. The heat embossed sentiment strip/vellum butterfly were adhered into place and I added a mix of the NEW Crystal Gems to accent the mandala pattern.

I used my leftover inks from the mandala blending to create my final card! I just sprayed the inks on my glass mat with tons of water and tapped an A2 panel onto the surface to create a random, smooshed background. I wasn't precise and finished it in about 30 seconds! Once the panel was dry, I stamped the large rose image from the "Roses" Stamp Set in the corner.

I stamped/die cut the same image from printer paper to create a mask and covered the rose on the panel. I placed the "Garden Gate" Stencil on top and randomly blended with the same inks to create a subtle pattern. Keeping the mask in place, I used the "Stained Glass" Stencil, pressed my VersaMark Pad directly through the pattern and heat embossed it with a gold sparkle powder.

I die cut the rose image and backed it with six additional die cuts from light pink cardstock to create some dimension. The background panel was trimmed/glued onto an A2 card base and the rose was adhered into the omit. The vellum butterfly/heat embossed sentiment strip (Sunny Greetings Stamp Set) were attached with foam tape and I added some of the NEW Pink Crystal Gems. The contrast between the sparkling patterned background and the matte  rose coloration is really effective on this card!
