All Occasion Card | CAS(E) this Sketch #326

Hi!

Sharing my take on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch - CTS326:

I added several extra layers of difficulty to this challenge by using a very limited color palette, stamps sets that were over 10-years-old and kept it to a single layer design...WHEW! This one was a work out! 

Using the MISTI, I daubed both Picked Raspberry and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks onto the bird silhouette image and stamped it onto white card stock. The sentiment was curved and stamped  several times to reflect motion on the underside of the bird using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. I then stamped several scrollwork figures with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink to capture the essence of the  sketch this week. This panel was die cut and glued onto the front of a top-folding A-2 card base. I really like the way the scrolls looks like air currents supporting the bird in flight.

Anniversary Card | My Favorite Things - In Paris | CTS#324

Bonjour!

Sharing an anniversary card today that was created for CAS(E) this Sketch #324 and used a mix of MFT and Lawn Fawn Products. Here is the sketch:

So excited to announce that this card won for the CTS #324! Yippee!

I started by blending Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink onto white cardstock and die cut it with MFT's Stitched Dome STAX Die-namics. Two clouds (from the "Love Bugs" Set) were stamped with the same ink and die cut. The balloon and Eiffel Tower (from the "In Paris" Set) were stamped, watercolored and die cut. The word "happy" from Lawn Fawn's "happy happy happy" set was stamped/die cut; all die cuts were cut/glued/stacked together multiple times to create dimension. 

All of the pieces were placed onto the front of an A-2 top-folding card card base to determine their final layout. The dome was glued into place followed by the Eiffel Tower. The sentiment was stamped onto the card base using the MISTI and the remaining pieces were either glued or adhered onto the card with foam tape.

Birthday Card | Ellen Hutson - Stay Salty

AHOY!

Today I am sharing a clean and simple birthday card based on this layout from CAS(E) this Sketch #280. I chose this theme for a good friend who sails the East Coast and Florida panhandle now that he and his wife are retired!

I die cut a white card stock panel just a bit smaller than the A-2 top folding card base. Using the Essentials by Ellen stamp/die set, “Stay Salty”, I randomly stamped the waves in Distress Oxide Ink (Salty Ocean), spritzed it with shimmer spray and then flicked diluted ink and pearlized watercolor onto the area. The sailboat image was stamped, colored, die cut and finished off with a bit of Wink of Stella. I stamped the sentiment onto the wave panel with VersaFine Ink and heat embossed it with clear powder. The wave/sentiment panel was adhered to the card base with double-sided tape and the sail boat was popped off the card with foam tape.

I really like this CTS#280 layout and sketched out several additional cards for future use - sometimes I struggle with the sketch and at other times it just clicks for me and the creative energy starts flowing! 🙂

Birthday Card | Lawn Fawn - Elphie Selfie

Hey there!

I would like to share a sweet birthday card with you featuring Lawn Fawn’s “Elphie Selfie” stamp/die set. 

The images were stamped onto Strathmore Smooth Bristol with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink, watercolored, die cut and finished with a little Wink of Stella. I die cut a Bristol panel, randomly blended/speckled Distress Oxide Inks (Twisted Citron, Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean) towards the left side and completed the background by spritzing and daubing shimmer spray over the inks.

I prepped a piece of black card stock with my anti-static powder tool, stamped the sentiment with VersaMark Ink and embossed it with Lawn Fawn’s White Embossing Powder; the sentiment was die-cut and trimmed to size.

Light blue card stock was adhered to the front of a white top-folding A-2 card base, the background panel was glued onto the front, all of the critters were glued into place and the birthday accessories were popped up with foam tape.

Birthday Card | Lawn Fawn - Sweet Smiles - CTS #275

This card is a submission for CAS(E) this Sketch #275.

CAS(E) This Sketch! #275

This card came together pretty quickly using the "Sweet Smiles" stamp/die set from Lawn Fawn. I stamped/colored/die cut the gumball machine. I then die cut a scalloped circle from the blue Swiss dot paper, backed it with craft foam and attached a small strip of striped paper along the left side. 

I prepped a small piece of black card stock with my anti-static powder tool, stamped the word "sweet" with VersaMark ink, embossed it with Lawn Fawn's white embossing powder and trimmed it down to size. The gumball machine and sentiment were popped off the card front with foam tape to add some dimension and the card was finished off with a Wink of Stella to give the image some sparkly reflection. I really like the bright, graphic look of this card. ♥
