Halloween Card | Whimsy Stamps - "Witch Whispers" and "Curly Frames" Die Sets

Here's just a little HOCUS POCUS!

Well, my fingers were stained green for two days after creating mixed media backgrounds for this card but since it's my favorite color, I guess that's OK! I started with a large piece of 130# white card stock and combined Leaf Green Brushos with watercolors, Faber-Castell Gelatos and Distress Oxide Inks. I wanted the entire card to have the same basic undertones but with a contrasting foreground so I cut a curly shape out of the middle using the large "Curly Frame" Die. I then added a lot more black, copper and olive green to the outside frame to develop this contrast, while leaving the interior brighter and cleaner. The outer frame was glued onto a piece of black card stock, black craft foam was attached to the back of the bright middle panel and it was adhered back into the middle omit, thus providing instant depth. The panel was trimmed and attached to an A7 (5x7) card base.

I die cut the witch image ("Witch Whispers Die Set" twice from heavy black card stock, glued the pieces together and lightly inked the left side to indicate a highlight reflection. The crystal ball was created with a small circle die cut, painted with a combo of bright yellow and white pearl paints. I popped the witch and crystal ball into place with black craft foam onto the raised the middle panel.

The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of the original background, selectively die cut/hand trimmed and then glued into place. Iridescent Dew Drops were added as the embellishments to finish off this atmospheric design! I was really happy with the way this one came together (Incredible Hulk fingers and all!) and  I hope you like it, too!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and happy crafting!
Rachelle
