Halloween Card | Whimsy Stamps - "Spiders & Webs" Die Set

 

Yikes!

Here's a creepy spider hanging out in the light of a crescent moon! This shaped card features the wonderful die cuts from the "Spiders & Webs" Set and just uses a simple 5.5" circle die to create the hinged card base by hanging the die over the fold before running it through the die cutter.

I created 2 ink-blended panels - the purple base and gold moon - each finished piece was die cut with the same 5.5" circle die. 

Using a slightly smaller circle die, I cut the crescent from the front of the hinged card base and did the same with the gold panel. 

Each panel was attached to the card base and I cut a small sliver from the bottom of the purple circle so that the card would stand up on its own - see below. 

I die cut the spider and web (two times each) from heavy weight black card stock and glued the pieces together. Each image was painted/glued into place on the card and I added a black crescent die cut to the inside to finish off the interior. All that was left was to heat emboss the large sentiment from the "I Want Candy" Clear Stamps Set onto the background and add a few large holographic confetti stars to the panel.

I really like the way this round card came together! It's fun to try a shape other than a rectangle and using the delicate spider web to fill the moon really adds a lot of detail with just a couple of key elements!
