Hello!
I've got a card for you today that mixes so many of Whimsy Stamps' great Halloween products together! I consider myself extremely lucky to have been asked to join the Halloweeners Design Team for the past two years...the leadership, support and generosity has been amazing and I have ended up with a large library of creative products to use in my projects. This allows me to have so much fun when combining older products with the new releases and this card is the perfect example of that product blend!
The NEW clear stamp set designed by Dustin Pike is called "No Bones About It" and features these cute skeletons and punny sentiments that will tickle your funny bone! I can see these skellies peeking round corners, hanging upside down from a tree limb, doing the wave or chatting over the back fence, however, I decided to have him just chillin' in the graveyard!
I started with one of the background papers from the "Haunted Graveyards 6x6 Paper Pack" and built my color palette from it. I die cut the large tombstone from the "Build A Graveyard" Die Set, painted it to match the colors of the other stones in the background and assembled it together.
The lounging skeleton was stamped, colored and fussy cut. I have the matching outline dies for the stamp set but I wanted to do a little selective trimming and decided to fussy cut the image instead and attached him to the top of the tombstone. I wanted the skeleton/stone in the foreground, so I added a strip of grass and a fence line to this area with some color-coordinated die cuts. I was so happy with the way all of these components blended right into the background as if they had been designed that way - you can't really tell where the die cuts end and the paper begins! Yippee!
All that was left to do was to add one of the punny sentiments in a speech bubble (from the "Comic Speech Bubble" Die Set) and the card was complete!
