Birthday Card | Alphabet Challenge - "V" is for Vellum

Happy Friday!

We're on to the letter "V" over at the Alphabet Challenge and this time it stands for Vellum! I tried a new technique on this card - painting on the reverse side of vellum and it was so much fun!

I started with stenciling the Pink and Main's "Garden Gate" pattern onto an A2-sized piece of pink cardstock with Dusty Concord, Festive Berries and Picked Raspberry DOI. This panel was sprayed with shimmer mist and attached to a top-folding A2 card base after it was dry. The "Mondo Sakura" floral from Ellen Hutson was heat embossed on heavy weight vellum and loosely painted on the back side with the same inks to give the flowers a bit of shape.

I die cut the larger frame from Pink Fresh Studio's "Essential Pretty Frames" and separated the pieces. The floral image was cut to the same size as the smallest frame and glued to the back. The largest frame and the floral frame were glued to the front panel. A heat embossed sentiment strip and sequins finished up the card!

Thanks so much for joining me today and for taking the time to comment! We hope to see lots of vellum projects over at the Alphabet Challenge!

Take care and stay safe!
Rachelle

  3. What a beautiful card, Rachelle! I love the image you colored perfectly, and making the frame to cover the adhesive is a great way to hide it. Vellum is tricky but oh so pretty, making it worth the extra effort. Hope you are well and having fun in your craft room! Have a great weekend.
