Christmas Card | Graciellie Design - "Festive Poinsettia" | Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog - "October Anything Goes"

Hey There!

I’m so excited to announce that I was just invited to join the wonderful Design Team at the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and for my first project I used an image from Graciellie Design's “Festive Poinsettia Bundle” as my coloring focal point! I printed this beautiful image in a light gray (on 100# Cougar Opaque Card Stock) and painted it with watercolors. This card stock has become my favorite because it is a bright, clean white (cleaner than Neenah Solar White), takes watercolor extremely well without pilling and is the perfect weight for substantial card bases. The panel was spattered with gold metallic paint, backed with a piece of craft foam and attached to the card front.

This will not be a mass-produced Christmas card for me this year (because it took me 3+ hours to paint this single image) ☺ but I will watercolor some less-detailed versions and see how I like them!
