Birthday Card | Alphabet Challenge "J" is for Jewels/Jewelery | Ellen Hutson - "Voices In My Head"

Hi!

I'm tickled to share this card with you today as we start a new challenge over on the Alphabet Blog: "J" is for Jewels or Jewelry! I decided to go the Royal Route and feature Ellen Hutson's "Voices In My Head" Stamp Set (released in June 2019) & "Speech Bubble" Dies! This Birthday Queen is sporting a golden crown bejeweled with bling!

The dotted background was stenciled using Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink onto light pink card stock and spritzed with shimmer mist. After the panel was dry, it was die cut with a stitched rectangle and adhered onto a top-folding A2 card base. I stamped the gal with dark brown ink, loosely watercolored her hair, rubbed some pink pastel onto her cheeks and fussy the image.

I wasn't sure which crown worked the best so I cut about a dozen different shapes/sizes using my Cricut and tested them all out! (You can see my left-overs in the first photo!) I decided to go with the triple heart tiara that wrapped around her head, added a few gems and glued her into place at the bottom. I created my own sentiment and layered several of the speech bubble die cuts together to create the panel at the top. She is now ready for her birthday coronation! : )

We can't wait to see your jewels/jewelry/bling over in our Alphabet Challenge Gallery!

Thanks so much for all of your encouraging comments - they truly make my day!
